Resolution discipline

Only a limited number should be adopted. Each must identify the responsible body, action, timeframe, reporting point and status.

Decision methods

General assent and recorded endorsement are preferred. Formal voting is reserved for clearly defined decisions and eligible participants.

Working mandate

Every mandate states the question, scope, lead institution, convenor, contributors, output, initial term, reporting date and limitations.

Institutional ratification

A resolution that commits a separate institution may remain subject to that institution’s own approval or ratification.

Status register

Proposed, under discussion, adopted, adopted as amended, referred, deferred, under implementation, implemented, superseded or closed.
