The World Neutrals Summit™ opens deliberations on the future of international commercial arbitration and institutional dispute resolution.
The Barcelona Assembly today commenced formal proceedings on International Commercial Arbitration as part of the World Neutrals Summit™.
The proceedings brought together arbitrators, legal practitioners, academics, institutional representatives and commercial dispute resolution professionals to consider developments affecting international arbitration and the continuing evolution of institutional dispute resolution.
Discussions focused on procedural integrity, institutional efficiency, enforceability of awards, party autonomy and the importance of internationally recognised standards in supporting confidence in arbitration.
The proceedings form part of the Official Record of the Founding Annual Convergence and contribute to the Assembly’s continuing examination of international dispute resolution.
“International arbitration continues to evolve alongside international commerce. Institutions have an important responsibility to ensure that arbitration remains efficient, credible and responsive to the needs of international business,” observed the Chair of Proceedings.
